Jana Roithová

Jana Roithová graduated in organic chemistry (1998)  from the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague, she then continued with her PhD studies at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of the Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague. During this time, she was working in the Institute of Chemical Technology and J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry, both part of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Her PhD thesis was devoted to reaction dynamics and was completed under the supervision of Prof. Zdenek Herman. After obtaining the PhD title in 2003, she undertook a postdoctoral stay at the Technical University in Berlin in the group of Prof. Helmut Schwarz. From 2007 she is working at the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague, presently she is a head of the department of organic chemistry. She has obtained several prizes, e.g. Hlávka Prize and Stipend L’Oréal for Women in Science. Jana Roithová is the author of more than 130 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and in 2010 has received a Starting Grant from European Research Council.
