Vladimír Havlíček
Vladimir Havlicek studied organic technology at Prague Institute of Chemical Technology and joined the Institute of Microbiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in 1991. In 1995 received a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the Prague Institute of Chemical Technology. After a postdoctoral stay at the University of Washington in Seattle he began proteomics experiments in the Czech Republic. In 2006 he was appointed as Chair of the Laboratory of Molecular Structure Characterization. Commencing from 2008, his laboratory began studying mass spectrometry imaging and ambient ionization techniques. Professor Vladimir Havlicek serves as an advisory board member of the Journal of Mass Spectrometry, European Journal of Mass Spectrometry, and Analytical Chemistry A-Panel. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA), received several national awards (e.g. Learned Society, Wichterle Premium), published more than 130 papers, 6 book chapters and received 3 patents. From 2002, he has taught biomolecular mass spectrometry at Palacky University in Olomouc (Czech Republic). At present his lab hosts two FTICR mass spectrometers (9.4 and 12 Tesla), three NMR instruments including the HPLC-NMR-MS configuration for metabolomics and multiple electron microscopy equipment.
